The 19th season of the Indian Cricket Tournament will commence in March 2025. However, before the full schedule is announced, one should consider the IPL Auction 2025, which will take place in December 2024. The IPL Players List 2025 will be released shortly following the auction. The IPL 2025 Released Players List and IPL 2025 Retained Players List will be announced shortly. IPL RETENTION DEADLINE DAY
All 10 teams, including the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants, must shortlist their retention lists by October 31st.
IPL 2025 PLAYER LIST
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to host the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in March 2025. The exact dates have not been announced, but the IPL Players List 2025 will provide details on each team. The tournament will feature cricketers from various countries playing in different teams. Each team can retain six players and have two uncapped players, who are not international players.
The IPL Auction 2025 is set to begin in December 2024, and the venue has not been decided yet. The Players List will be released after the auction, and the IPL 2025 Released Players List will also be released soon. A tentative list has been provided, but fans are advised to wait for the actual list and other details.

IPL 2025 AUCTION PURSE
The auction purse has been increased to Rs 120 crore, allowing each team to build their squad. The salary cap includes auction purse, incremental performance pay, and match fees. The total salary cap has been raised to Rs 146 crore (2025) and Rs 151 crore (2026).
A significant rule has been introduced, allowing a capped Indian player to become uncapped if they have not featured in the playing XI in international cricket for the last five calendar years preceding the relevant season.

IPL 2025 RULES
- The names of 11 players must be mentioned before or after the toss.
- Teams can utilize substitutes before to the start of each innings.
- If the bowling is not within the time limit, the teams have to place only 4 fielders outside of the field.
- The strategic timeout is 2.25 minutes for each of the teams.
- The first six overs of an innings are considered powerplay overs.
- During powerplay overs, only two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
- After the powerplay overs, no more than five fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
IPL 2025 RETENTION RULES
- The teams can only retain 6 players.
- The franchise can retain at least 5 capped players
- The uncapped players shall not have played the International Cricket
- The retained players list has to be submitted before 31 October 2024.
